Leaving a place deeply rooted in oneself for a new region or country which gives the illusion of a better life. Immigrants are those who don’t belong, those whose place of birth is not a safe place any more, those who have to build their own illusion of a home that’s safe, those who’s remembrances become their country within.
‘ Walking Houses’ is a simple, innocent and poetic way to talk about immigration.  When I paint my walking houses, I create the idea of a mobile home, a home that is not built with bricks or concrete, a home that is not bound to a specific place, but my own set of memories that may never have existed but are the fortress of who I am.
